Illustration about old friend who now don’t have many things in common. Other friend has stayed about same, other has changed.

This is an illustration for an invitation to the Summer Party of the Finnish Illustrators Association (Kuvittajat ry). Little birds are queuing to jump off from the branch, which is curved to form a word “juhla” (Party).

I just did these two recession themed illustrations for two different magazines. Both stories are about avoiding personal recession. I decided to use similar colors and technique to make a little series on the theme. I used a little blurring to create feeling of movement.

First one is for ladies’ magazine Anna and second is for Asukas, magazine for customers of a housing company.

In the summer food gets bad quite fast. Be careful! Illustration for health magazine Terveydeksi.

Illustration for a story about how woman realizes that she sometimes drinks too much. Alcohol makes her aggressive.

I was searching for a file in my digital archives of non published works (and loads of other things). I did not find that file but spent almost whole day browsing through my old projects, tests etc. I found some very nice stuff that I had already forgot. Here’s some of them. “Gymstar” is from 2001 and others from 2004. I think I did not have lots of jobs and were trying to create something new. I think I should have gone further with them.

Some of the pictures I found need some editing (they are mostly fh:s or psd:s) before I can post them.

I would like to make more realistic illustrations and have recently tested a new style, I make a collage and paint it with photshop.

First picture is a cover for a book. Actually I’m still working on it, but I think it’s already good enough to show.

These are illustrations for informational children book about medicine for boys wetting their beds at night. In this picture Mika is sad because he has wetted his bed.

Mika’s football team is practising.

Coach tells the team that they are going to a football camp.

Mikas going home after hearing that his football team is going to a camp. He’s worried about wetting his bed in the camp.

Mika has wetted his bed and daddy has changed the sheets.

Mika tells his best friend about his fears and she tells him about the medicine.

Mika tells his parents about the medicine and they deside to go to the doctor.

I did this illustration about home security for Osaava Kodinrakentaja -magazine (~”Handy Home builder”) as a first job of year 2009. And I did it totally against their instructions and wishes. They told me that it’s a beautiful picture but do it again and obey the instructions and wishes.

Here’s the result. I like it and so did they. Next time I’ll show the scetches before Photoshopping if I plan do something else than what was asked.
